To support our global business, Luxottica operates multiple manufacturing and logistics facilities across North America to support our retail stores and wholesale customers.



The Assistant Buyer provides transactional procurement support in the assigned commodity area. Provides transactional procurement support for purchases and planned spending across Luxottica North America. Partners with Buyers to support the attainment of objectives in quality, delivery, service and cost for products and services through the execution of commodity/category strategies.


  • Responsible for an assigned category or commodity requiring application of basic purchasing principles, theories and concepts.
  • Generates cost savings and/or sourcing process improvements.
  • Participates in obtaining high quality low cost services through competitive bidding and negotiations.
  • Creates written recommendations to internal clients.
  • Partners with Buyer to support the process of Requests for Proposals (RFP) Requests for Information (RFI) or Quote (RFQ).
  • Participates in generating recommendations based on Total Cost of Ownership comparisons.
  • Participate in sourcing new and alternate suppliers as required by projects and commodities.
  • Ensures timely acquisitions of product or service requirements from known sources of supply.
  • Monitors and reports on activities associated within assigned commodity/category.
  • Utilize least total cost analysis techniques and other standard purchasing tools in supplier selection.
  • Collaborates with internal clients and/or end users to develop product/service requirements and performance factors.
  • Identifies opportunities for national/global leverage of volumes and purchasing power, as needed.
  • Coordinates/negotiates with suppliers, Legal and internal management to develop agreements in accordance with Luxottica’s contract review and signature authority policy.
  • Documents savings per department Cost Savings Report.
  • Participates in supplier performance evaluations and corrective action initiatives.
  • Participates in cross-functional teams related to assigned commodities.
  • Participates in projects related to improvement of department processes and/or systems.
  • Audit vendor invoices for accuracy and monitor and report internal contract compliance
  • Monitors and tracks quarterly goals and objectives.
  • Responds to caller/email inquiries quickly, completely, and professionally.


  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years relevant business experience
  • Knowledge of:
    • Standard purchasing practice and procedures

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills
