We are looking for an enthusiastic thought leader to lead our customer training and development initiatives focusing on our eyecare initiatives, products and programs.

In this role, you will plan and execute training promote the company’s image of leadership, education, and research, in the US eyecare community and will serve as a professional face of EssilorLuxottica engaging in customer facing training sessions, meetings and trade shows. This position will partner with outside business groups such as marketing and commercial teams to ensure EssilorLuxottica’s education assets are meeting our customers’ needs and are reaching the broadest audience possible.


You will be responsible for the customer adoption of Leonardo, EssilorLuxottica’s new and innovative learning platform. The platform offers content in various formats, such as video, interactive lessons, podcast, and virtual classrooms presented by industry experts. Learners will have access to nearly 6,000 hours of learning content covering a variety of topics including brands, products and technologies.


To be successful in this role you must be customer focused, passionate about training and education, and eager to share vision care knowledge. You will demonstrate managerial skills in developing the eyecare training team.



  • Works with Director of Customer Education Eyecare to create learning strategy and action plan to implement yearly training plans according to business objectives and challenges.
  • Assesses learning and development requests/challenges and evaluates and recommends solutions.
  • Develops Training programs and deployment ecosystem to reach all learners just in time on the right content with the right training format (e.g., classroom, e-Learning, virtual classroom, performance support, blended learning) based on defined learning outcomes.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates learning objectives and instructional strategies, including developing leading edge learning methodologies for training delivery (i.e., web-based, classroom, etc.) by guiding teams through:
  • Conducting business needs analysis
  • Defining business outcomes
  • Designing the complete learning experience
  • Delivering the program for transfer of learning and application to the job
  • Driving follow-through to maximize transfer of knowledge and skills to the job
  • Documenting results
  • Implements training digital assets and training KPIs and formulates a consistent reporting structure to measure training impact.
  • Builds effective relationships with key stakeholders, in the eyecare commercial organizations
  • Effectively communicates program design strategy, program status and issues with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates initiative in gathering feedback and data from Associates, improving learning and development programs, and constantly moving learning to the next level.



  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Learning, Training, or Retail Leadership
  • 5+ years of Training, Learning & Development experience



  • ABO certification preferred
  • Track record of executing results - knows state of the art learning design and development
  • Ability to be recognized as a subject matter expert, who can bring innovative training strategies, experiences, and approaches
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
