GENERAL FUNCTION

The Marketing Specialist aides in the development and execution of product marketing initiatives.  The Specialist works in conjunction with the Product Marketing Manager to deliver materials and assets to drive the brand, including executing seasonal and new product creative; creating training tools; coordinating photoshoots; collaborating needs across a matrix organization; approving creative; preparing reports; managing budgets and payment processes; supporting events and remaining flexible as business needs evolve. Ensures the Costa brand is strategically positioned and presented in a brand enhancing way to achieve defined business objectives established by the Marketing Department and are consistent with Luxottica’s goals, guidelines and objectives.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures availability of appropriate product marketing materials, by collaborating with the trade and ecommerce teams
  • Becomes an expert in Costa brand guidelines and standards to advise on creative inputs and approvals
  • Tracks and compiles product insights and feedback into qualitative data
  • Maintains an organized budget and vendor payment processes
  • Places product orders in support of photoshoot or other brand events for product marketing team
  • Manages calendars with cross-functional groups to deliver go-to-market goals
  • Facilitates product creative for internal and external stakeholders for execution in market
  • Supports creative productions (photoshoots) as needed to deliver seasonal strategy
  • Executes internal stakeholder requests for product marketing materials, trainings, catalogs and asset needs
  • Maintains a professional relationship and line of communication with all business contacts, sales force and customers
  • Provides administrative support, as needed

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Business or Sales
  • 2+ year(s) of previous marketing experience
  • Basic knowledge of marketing principles and practices
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and flexibility to accommodate demanding project schedules
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • High level of computer literacy: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SAP
  • Ability to prioritize and handle additional responsibilities as required and assigned
  • Basic understanding of budgeting, cost estimating and fiscal management principles and procedures
  • Ability to solve problems quickly, think creatively and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Motivated self-starter, process-oriented with a high attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Ability to travel domestically (minimum of one retail visit every quarter)
