GENERAL FUNCTION

The Freshwater Community Manager will manage all aspects of our presence within the Fly and Bass fishing communities. They are Costa’s face to the Fly world and manage the Bass Community Leader in their efforts within that community. They will provide leadership through meaningful industry relationships and be responsible for marketing initiatives within the freshwater and fly segment of our business. They will work closely with the sales team to help expand distribution and increase new doors.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and oversee an annual marketing plan for the fly and bass fishing communities
  • Manage the Bass Community Leader and the Pro Program Specialist while fostering each individual for professional and personal growth
  • Oversee our pro and influencer marketing programs to scale our grassroots efforts in key geographies and markets
  • Cultivate pro and industry relationships within the fly community.
  • Coordinate and actively participate in conservation programs to build community and boost brand awareness.
  • Manage event sponsorships and promotions in alignment with marketing plans.
  • Assist in content development for web, social media (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, blog, etc.) and advertising to foster awareness and affinity within the community.
  • Ensure program plans are in alignment with strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Research, evaluate and recommend enhancements to marketing positions as it relates to the community.
  • Spearhead media planning and public relations within the fly and bass communities.
  • Liaise with sales and product development to stay updated on new products.
  • Responsible for ensuring adherence to plan specification.
  • Other duties may be assigned as business needs arise.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • A. Degree required
  • 5 years of experience
  • Deep understanding and passion for inshore fishing with established roots in the community
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (excel, work, powerpoint, etc.)
  • Strong business partnering skills
  • Autonomous, with strong ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization
  • Well organized, professional, composed and approachable
  • Ability to be progressive in thinking and development

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Marketing or Business Administration degree preferred
  • CommunicationAbility to effectively exchange information with internal and external customers; clear and concise verbal and written communication; active and empathic listener to others views and provides constructive feedback.
