The Director – EH&S will be responsible for managing and executing EHS policies and procedures across the Oakley Foothill Ranch (FHR) campus to ensure compliance to all applicable local, state and Federal regulatory requirements.



  • Develop campus EHS strategy and oversee all policies and procedures across the entire Foothill Ranch campus
  • Drive alignment along campus business units by creating an EH&S plan to meet organization’s objectives.
  • Act as a strategic business partner, change agent, and trusted member of the leadership team
  • Develops, recommends and implements programs to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state and federal EHS regulations including documentation, reporting, training, and program development.
  • Monitor effectiveness of all EH&S policies, practices, and processes to determine efficiency and effectiveness. Recommend improvements to achieve and deliver improved results.
  • Facilitate organization and leadership development efforts to address root causes of EH&S related issues. Coach Managers and employees at all levels within campus business units on a variety of environment health and safety topics.
  • Influence senior management across the campus to clarify and to resolve business unit EH&S issues and improve overall EH&S program effectiveness.
  • Lead, train, and develop of team of safety and environmental health professionals
  • Partner with corporate and other Luxottica EHS personnel in the U.S. and globally to leverage global safety and environmental best practices into the Oakley FHR campus.
  • Establish and build EHS metrics to provide leadership with accurate reporting and metrics that support overall business initiatives.
  • Manage activities for Worker’s Compensation claims, while identifying root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Interacts with external local State & Federal regulatory agencies.
  • Work with internal business partners regarding new product, equipment and process introductions, various EHS initiatives as well as programs and practices.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 14001, ISO 45001 at a manufacturing site.



  • BS/BA in safety, environmental, ergonomics or a related field
  • 10+ years of increasing responsibilities in safety and environmental programs in manufacturing organizations
  • 5+ years of experience leading and building effective teams
  • Expert knowledge of California local, state and Federal regulatory requirements such as SCAQMD, CUPA, DTSC, Cal-OSHA, etc.
  • Experience leading change in a large manufacturing environment and managing multiple direct reports.
  • Written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with Directors and VPs and other executive leaders
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, changing/growing organization
  • Handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations



  • Master’s degree in safety, environmental, ergonomics or a related field
  • Certified Safety Professional or other EHS certifications
