The Oakley User Experience (UX) team is committed to providing clear human powered insights to transform our products.  The UX Analyst learns how Oakley’s athletes and consumers use our products and helps identify problem statements and unmet needs.  By asking the right questions, listening, observing and participating in the field, the UX Analyst supports the user experience research team in the most positive way. The UX Analyst participates in research of online media, recruits athletes and users, observes and participates in events, coordinates interviews, documents information and organizes resulting data. The Analyst’s insights and observations are integrated into the research and development, design, product development, and marketing processes to help create the unexpected. 



  • Conducts desk research on project initiatives
  • Coordinates user research including: event planning, recruiting, interviews, and surveys
  • Coordinates, conducts and participates in usability testing
  • Participates in research based on analytics, including competitive product benchmark and heuristic evaluations
  • Assists in gathering user requirements
  • Participates in research reports and gathers artifacts like user profiles, user journeys, workflows and use case documents to help deepen organizational understanding of our users
  • Supports UX team to summarize research results, and presents directly to the innovation and design teams for discussion and future implementation
  • Provides design suggestions based on research, observation, participation, expertise, and insight
  • Supports UX team to facilitate and lead design thinking workshops, guiding cross functional teams in the definition of the most valuable user experience
  • Assist project leaders capturing insights in consumers tests (focus groups, ux labs)
  • Liaises with cross functional teams to collaborate and coordinate test efforts
  • Other duties and responsibilities, as needed 



  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Design, human sciences or related
  • 1+ years of experience
  • Deep curiosity for product development
  • Interest in the voice of the customer - generating user insights, translating insights into feature requirements, conducting rigorous evaluations, and communicating findings to stakeholders
  • Demonstrated understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
  • Skilled in statistical analysis with familiarity with statistical packages used for analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to visualize and present rich research data simply and clearly
  • Interested knowledgeable of design thinking methods and tools
  • Able to use creativity to solve complex projects, and conceptualize solutions
  • Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to excel in a fast paced agile environment, adapts to shifting urgencies, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Able to evaluate processes and recommend changes which result in a greater opportunity for goal achievement, enhanced usage or increased efficiency
  • Able to travel for research activities, up to 30% 



  • Outdoor gear expertise including knowledge of goggles, eyewear, helmets, or performance apparel
