The Senior Research Engineer is a member of the team that creates and delivers brand-relevant technologies to the Product Roadmap. R&D’s core role is innovation through timely creation of technologies with meaningful consumer benefits.  A technical expert, the Sr. Research Engineer leverages experience and knowledge to drive creative and innovative ideas and execution in cross functional peer groups. 



  • Serves as a seasoned professional within the R&D team, driving project progress through critical thinking, conceptualization, and problem solving
  • Develops and executes the research of innovative and cutting-edge technologies, components, processes, materials, and concepts
  • Functions as a senior member within a cross-functional team
  • Ability to think outside the box and use design thinking methodologies to drive innovation
  • Responsible for mechanical and structural engineering of new products
  • Develops new technologies, in line with feature, performance and cost specifications
  • Visions and/or executes improvements to legacy products
  • Participates in project planning of engineering tasks and estimating timelines
  • Tests performance improvements through application of the scientific method
  • Working awareness at the project level, with direct execution of the underlying tasks
  • Tracks and communicates project status to applicable cross functional teams
  • Executes high level engineering requiring very little directional supervision
  • Travel requirement, up to 25%, domestic and international 



  • BS in Engineering or similar
  • 5+yrs engineering experience
  • CAD modeling, packaging and assembly experience
  • Imaginative, outside the box thinker with a history of creative problem solving
  • Experience in a research and development role
  • Familiarity with polymers, plastics processing and injection molding
  • Rapid prototyping/additive manufacturing methods and design
  • Experience conducting physical testing and sample evaluation
  • Hands-on fabrication of prototypes for testing and user feedback
  • Computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Word
  • Simple and Fast approach to innovating, fail fast- learn faster
  • Technical leadership and strong collaboration in cross functional teams
  • Entrepreneurial spirit through progression and improvement
  • Strong organizational, people, verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with high attention to detail
  • Travel requirement, up to 25%, domestic and international 



  • MS in Engineering or similar
  • Experience in consumer products industry
  • ProE/Creo proficiency
  • Highly skilled in volumetric modeling and surface creation
  • Packaging and manipulation of complex assemblies
  • Kinematic and mechanical assembly manipulation
  • FEA and moldflow simulation
  • Practical knowledge of wearable electronics product design
  • Familiarity with MIM, die casting, forging and other metal forming technogie
  • Field testing with end-users in various environments
  • Passion for and participation in our core sports
