GENERAL FUNCTION

The Director of Business Development acts as a leader for cultivating relationships with agencies and brokerages, creating and pursuing new partnership opportunities, and driving EyeMed growth through development of new innovative programs. The Director is responsible for leading strategic initiatives and developing new models to drive EyeMed’s engagement with brokerages and deliver measurable market growth across the country. 

 The Director works with executive leadership in the planning process, leads a team focused on execution, and works cross functionally across sales, account management, marketing, operations, finance to ensure successful execution. The Director will collaborate closely with regional sales teams to identify market-specific opportunities and implement tailored programs to deliver results. The Director provides insight and decision support to leadership and collaborates cross-functionally to ensure the strategic vision is converted into a tactical plan and executed.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive strategic thinking and collaborate with cross-functional leaders to develop, execute and monitor broker engagement programs
  • Work with executive leadership to define scope, goals, and objectives for strategic programs to enhance broker relationships and EyeMed win rate
  • Develop strong relationships with key leaders in brokerage and consulting houses
  • Continuously evaluate opportunities to optimize, differentiate in the market and improve overall programs and performance
  • Analyze performance to identify trends and opportunities and drive future strategy
  • Collaborate with the reporting team to communicate overall program reporting, KPIs, communication
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices to define competitive offerings
  • Transition strategy from concepts to execution, ensuring integration across internal functional areas, vendors
  • Lead cross-functional risk identification and resolution when implementing new programs
  • Drive consistency of process, operational excellence, and rapid execution delivering desired business results / growth and maintaining a high level of client satisfaction
  • Own vendor relationships and coordinate to ensure successful delivery
  • Manage and appraise direct report(s) to deliver business development initiatives
  • Manage forecast and business outcomes within budget and time parameters

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10+ years’ experience in consulting, strategy or business development
  • Experience driving large-scale, complex projects to completion
  • Experience interfacing with executive stakeholders and clients
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong consultative selling skills
  • Strong business acumen with ability to align stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Strong facilitation, conflict resolution, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, works well under pressure
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA
  • Experience managing a team
  • Benefits, insurance or healthcare industry experience
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to establish metrics
  • Innovative thinker
