The Director, Contract Administration is responsible for supporting and maintaining the EyeMed Provider Agreement utilized in all 51 jurisdictions, including DC.  The Director is responsible for the negotiation, modification, and administration of the EyeMed Provider Agreement.  The Director manages all state specific and line of business modifications to the EyeMed Provider Agreement and manages projects to ensure the EyeMed Provider Agreement is compliant with Federal and State requirements.



  • Engage with internal stakeholders to understand, interpret, and manage the EyeMed Provider Agreement, including but not limited to required or negotiated modification to the Provider Agreement.
  • Support all aspects of agreement administration support
  • Monitor performance to determine necessity for amendments and compliance to contractual obligations
  • Communicate with all stakeholders to ensure contract compliance and impact across internal departments
  • Confirm that provider communications and documents are consistent with final agreement
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external clients
  • Provide guidance, interpretation, advice and counsel to internal departments as it pertains to compliance with Provider Agreement
  • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Operations, Compliance, Provider Relations and Provider Operations to ensure understanding and compliance with Provider Agreement
  • Identifies risks and areas of concern on agreement terms and conditions and provides advice and guidance where necessary
  • Responds to inquiries regarding agreement obligations and revisions;
  • Negotiates terms and conditions
  • Monitors agreement performance and cost controls and ensures compliance with agreement terms;
  • Maintain correspondence and documentation related to the EyeMed Provider Agreement, including individual negotiations with contracted providers;
  • Participates in management review of proposals/modification
  • Provides superior service to internal clients.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed.



  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in contract management, administration, procurement, or related field
  • Solid understanding of contracting process and the ability to work effectively and independently in a dynamic environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail, and talent for accuracy and precision
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to research and understand legal implications
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral and strong organizational skills.: 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office



  • Experience in the healthcare industry / provider relations
  • Experience handling insurance and/or regulatory matters and/or contract drafting and negotiation
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and works independently with minimal supervision
  • Motivate, train, and obtain needed results from others
