The Account Executive – Strategic Partner, Medicaid is responsible for developing strategic relationships and managing ongoing support of multiple state Medicaid programs administered by one of our largest reseller partners. This role fosters relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supports operational needs and implements growth objectives of the assigned line of business within our strategic partner. The Account Executive helps to achieve annual membership, retention, revenue and profitability goals. EyeMed’s Strategic Partner segment includes many large national and regional health and/or specialty insurance plans. 



  • Builds and maintains strong relationships cross-functionally within Medicaid health plan partners at multiple levels.
  • Supports strategic business plans focused on retention, growing business and achieving financial targets for assigned Strategic Partner.
  • Consults with external Strategic Partner stakeholders to identify and achieve goals of both EyeMed and the Strategic Partner organizations.
  • Successfully represents client needs within internal organization and influences key internal teams to achieve client focused expectations and implement client requests.
  • Identifies client influencers and develops strong partnerships.
  • Collaborates with Medicaid state partners to ensure benefits are aligned with state requirements and are also competitive in the market.
  • Maintains solid understanding and ensures consistent delivery of Strategic Partner’s ongoing operational and reporting requirements and expectations.
  • Serves as a thought leader and vision care expert internally and externally to develop innovative processes / successes.



  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years account management experience, preferably within government programs
  • Possess an Accident and Health Insurance License or ability to obtain license within 60 (sixty) days of hire
  • Exceptional verbal and written professional communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills and executive presence
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Demonstrated successful results and accomplishments in account management role
  • Experience in building and negotiating contract terms with large, complex clients



  • Experience working with government programs – ideally Medicaid
  • Experience in the health insurance field with exposure to group benefits
