Th Sr Manager, Payments is responsible for leading the payments production team and monitoring payments productivity. This role owns daily escalated payments research through the execution of report creation/maintenance and data analysis. Through strong written and verbal communication skills, this role will drive cross-functional issue resolution and process improvement efforts with various functional areas in the organization. The role will also be responsible for communicating issue resolution and status updates to Claims and Payments leadership.



  • Direct the productivity, performance and development of the payments production team.
  • Deliver reports to EyeMed leadership outlining performance relative to targets and KPI on a recurring basis, highlighting areas of risk and actions required to mitigate.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of regulatory documents such as RAs, EOBs and IDNs, which have a very significant business impact in the areas of Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Provides leadership and oversight in Payments RTB and Compliance related initiatives.
  • Interfaces with internal contacts (via phone, email, meetings, etc.) to research and resolve/escalated issues accurately and in a timely manner. Ensures upward and downward communication to keep management and employees properly informed.
  • Develops and maintains the primary relationship between the Payments Team and IT in troubleshooting and triage efforts.
  • Develops and maintains the primary relationship between the Payments Team and third party fulfillment vendors.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for all payment production related matters on projects and in support of other departments including, but not limited to, Claims, IT, Accounting and Operations.



  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least 8+ years of experience in an Operations role
  • At least 3+ years of supervising experience
  • At least 3+ years of experience with query writing and/or report building
  • Previous SAP knowledge and experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical skills



  • 5+ years of supervising experience
  • 5+ years of analysis experience
  • 5+ years of experience with query writing and/or report building
  • Knowledge of Facets
  • Knowledge of SQL Data Extraction
  • Healthcare experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Highly motivated self-starter
