GENERAL FUNCTION

The Strategic Account Executive analyzes and consults with Fortune 500 companies, primarily with more than 20,000 employees, on their benefit programs with the target on vision benefits.  Engages executive level leaders and builds relationships at multiple levels and areas within the client.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops/Maintains relationships within client at multiple levels and across functions
  • Builds strategic business plans focused on retention, growing business and achieving financial targets
  • Negotiates contract terms to solidify desired business goals
  • Successfully represents client needs within internal organization to achieve customer goals and implement client requests
  • Supports sales initiatives through finalist meetings and leveraging relationships
  • Serves as a liaison/expediter for all issues requiring internal support – delivers with a strong sense of urgency and drives to protect both the Client and EyeMed interests
  • Collaborates with EyeMed direct salesforce to facilitate new business growth
  • Provides ongoing reporting around operational and financial performance

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a business related field
  • Possess an Accident and Health Insurance License or ability to obtain license within 60 (sixty) days of hire
  • 8+ years progressive client service or sales experience in B2B industry
  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in building and negotiating contract terms
  • Proven track record building sales and financial targets
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite of products
  • Demonstrated success in project management or liaison role
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Master’s Degree
  • 5+ years insurance industry sales and/or account management (ancillary products)
  • Insurance industry experience, preferably health, dental or vision
  • Knowledge of brokerage industry experience
