GENERAL FUNCTION

The Director of Information Technology is responsible for managing the demand for Luxottica Optical Retail Business: Target & Pearle Vision. The IT Director oversees the budgeting process and oversight of multiple projects and support activities.  The IT Director is the primary liaison between the Brand and IT, strategically driving business demand to obtain results for the IT client. The Director defines and manages IT application solution delivery and sustainability initiatives by understanding business requirements and directing the translation into system solutions that support the business process. The IT Director collaborates with others in departmental training, educational, methodologies, planning and budgeting activities.

 

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gathers, analyzes and defines end user requirements as applicable to applications/system, software/associated products, and business objectives.
  • Collaborates in the long-term strategic plan and goal creation process.
  • Develops, implements and maintains policies, procedures and plans for software administration and use.
  • Manages alignment meetings between IT customers, managers, and key stakeholders.
  • Analyzes documentation and technical specifications of applications to determine intended functionality.
  • Ensures new software integration with Luxottica systems meets functional requirements, system compliance and interface specifications.
  • Negotiates contracts and liaises with software suppliers to mitigate issues.
  • Liaises with network engineers and software developers to ensure quality levels, program logic and data processing integrity.
  • Establishes service level agreements with end users and ensures on-call technical support is in place.
  • Manages global system configuration strategies and execution
  • Collaboratively works with business customers to gather business requirements and determines business rules for developing new solutions.
  • Manages project, delivery and/or service teams as required e.g. hiring, development, performance management, termination, etc.
  • Coordinates and ensures quality team work through all phases of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

 

 BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related
  • 10+ years experience leading data warehouse solutions, data modeling and business/data analysis
  • 5+ years supervisory experience, cross-functional project leadership in retail / wholesale
  • History of managing projects with responsibility in a cross-functional environment
  • Demonstrable ability to grow and maintain relationship, lead teams, project oversight with business planning and information technology
  • Advanced knowledge of brand and business areas for North America and global sectors                           
  • Proven ability to interact with all levels of management across multiple functions and organizational structures
  • Exemplary analytical skills to review vendor performance
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation, and influencing skills
