GENERAL FUNCTION

The Lead Business Analyst facilitates and leads others in defining, developing and delivering  IT and technology solutions through collaboration with leaders to gather and prioritize market and client requirements. This BA will play a key role in ensuring projects and initiatives meet objectives by increasing adoption and usage. This role will focus on business processes, systems, and systems integration to identify issues, drive delivery, and adoption. Will support the complete Solution Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including: discovery, planning, requirements gathering, documentation, testing, training, implementation and support.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learns and understands business area processes and operating models; translates business needs into new technologies/applications, and performs high-level troubleshooting.
  • Ability to convey and sell the recommended changes ultimately seeking buy-in and alignment across business teams.
  • Assists with developing project estimates, plans and implementation schedules for assigned area in order to effect a variety of business solutions.
  • Understands the IT strategic and tactical goals in order to focus functional team(s) on highest business impact by working through others to ensure tasks are adequately defined, planned and completed.
  • Directs the business requirements gathering process by responsibly collecting, analyzing, documenting, and communicating business needs to ensure the solutions meet business requirements.
  • Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all phases of technology/application implementation; keeps IT management aware of issues and mitigation plans.
  • Tests system changes/enhancements related to assigned processes to ensure changes satisfy business requirements with no negative impact.
  • Documents work, including change requests and functional specifications, end user documentation, release notes, etc.
  • Facilitates meeting groups, tracks and influences progress and tracks deliverables in order to resolve client issues.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.   
  • 7+ years Information Systems/Business experience.
  • Critical thinking to identify opportunities with existing and new business processes
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and processes.
  • Strong voice of reason and knows challenge the status quo.
  • Experience with collecting requirements and implementation details
  • Experience writing business requirements, functional specifications, wireframes, visual designs, and testing.
  • Clear and practical understanding and experience integrating technical services
  • Knowledge of emerging technology and platforms, ecosystems, hardware and trends
  • Highly proficient and knowledgeable in MS Office applications

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with databases, ability to create, execute, and understand SQL queries to assist in data research.
  • Experience with configuring and/or using SAP.
  • Finance background or experience working on projects within finance.
  • Experience working within Facets medical application, specifically how to submit claims and understand functionality as it relates to provider, product, subscriber/member, networX.
  • Experience utilizing requirements, best practices and standards in healthcare/insurance industry
  • Experience with test automation and performance testing.
