GENERAL FUNCTION

The Manager – Business Analytics will play a critical role within the Business Analytics & Reporting team to develop and deliver value generating insight & analysis for the organization. The Manager will work with key functional areas to understand the business needs, conduct comprehensive data analysis, derive actionable insights, develop recommendations, and create analytical solutions. The Manager will also create predictive models and conduct advance data mining. The Manager will act as a thought partner, translating business questions into analytical problems to solve, extrapolate actionable insights from data analysis, and work with business partners to create action plans based on critical findings.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide business/data analysis, data mapping and reporting expertise to requested client reporting
  • Lead problem solving efforts for cross-functional teams and develop specific recommendations and action plans with business leaders across the organization
  • Identify automation opportunities in reporting and develop and maintain dashboards for broader leadership team
  • Create effective business requirements documents as well as test plans to support build and design of operational reporting
  • Ensure appropriate tracking, monitoring and reporting capabilities for key performance indicators. Continuously assess performance and process improvement opportunities to drive accuracy and efficiency
  • Work with the business stakeholders to understand, define and support data requirements
  • Learn and monitor industry trends and best practices to continuously enhance data and reporting capabilities
  • Develop front-end reports, interfaces / dashboards and queries to provide data access to business users
  • Support efforts to elicit, analyze, document and validate system requirements
  • Partner with key functional areas to understand, define, develop, and execute insight and analytical solutions to drive tangible business results
  • Translate business questions into analytical problems to solve, extrapolate actionable insights from data analysis, and communicate critical findings to business partners efficiently

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics
  • 5+ years of experience in analyzing data to derive actionable insights and applying data science to solve business problems
  • Excellent analytics, problem-solving, project management, teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Proficient in SAS/R/SQL
  • Able to independently design analysis and proficient in manipulating large/complex data sets
  • Strong capability of multi-tasking and managing tight project timelines
  • Experience of implementing /automating analytical solutions in production environment
  • Strong balance of business, data science techniques, and technology acumen
  • Expert MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Able to communicate data related insights effectively and efficiently

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree
  • 3+ years in creating predictive models for deriving actionable insights and data driven strategies
  • 2+ years in implementing data driven solutions in various production environments
  • Experience designing and executing experiment design for strategic testing
  • Experience with analysis and reporting in healthcare or insurance industry
  • Experience creating data maps and establishing rules for data mapping and maintenance
