GENERAL FUNCTION

The Manager- Compliance (Business Partner) is the primary Compliance point person within the operational area for which they serve, for both commercial and MA requirements. They are responsible for preparation, delivery, and participation in client audits that review the processes within their operational area. The Compliance Business Partner (CBP) also has accountability for the follow-up activities that may result from audit findings, including the development of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) and their timely completion. The CBP collaborates closely with the Compliance Team to drive compliant practices within the operational area as well as act as the compliance SME within their operational area.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acts as the SME for their operational area and collaborates with the Compliance Team in preparing for, and delivering on, client audits.
  • Represents the operational area in all client audits, including universe development and delivery; response documentation; case development, webinar presentation, an all other audit activities as needed.
  • Effectively leads internal monitoring processes for their operational area, including incorporation of ongoing client audits as an internal monitoring tool.
  • Reports on monitoring results to the Compliance Programs team and collaborates on analysis and potential remediation activities.
  • Identifies, tracks, and reports on correction activities taken and results.
  • Performs oversight of downstream entities.
  • Works with the Compliance Program team and downstream entities to ensure consistent problem resolution occurs across the organizations.
  • Develops recommendations to remediate known issues.
  • Identifies opportunities for training where previous instances of non-compliance have been identified, and delivers training where applicable
  • Prepares accurate and timely formal written reports on oversight and monitoring activity findings and recommendations and properly prepare supporting work papers.
  • Supports the collection of data for regulatory filings and assist with regulatory reporting for their operational area.
  • Directs compliance issues to appropriate channels for research and resolution.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in the assigned operational area
  • In-depth knowledge of the operational area they represent
  • Expert level experience with applications/platforms, operational systems and process, and the technical expertise to pull accurate data
  • Analytical approach to process review and results
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Collaborative workstyle with the ability to build partnerships, teamwork and good working relationships
  • Ability to influence internal constituents
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential information
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers and management
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities
  • Intermediate-level experience with Microsoft Office Products

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in an MA environment, including initiatives to meet regulatory requirements
  • Strong knowledge of the MA regulatory requirements that drive their operational area
  • Proven experience in performing effective monitoring and oversight
  • Understanding of the regulatory framework within which the company operates
  • Intermediate-level experience with Microsoft Project
