The Sr. Category Manager develops and implements strategies that leverage lenses and contact lenses to grow the business of the Retail Licensed Brands. Translates consumer and business insights into actionable tactics that deliver a competitive advantage and drive profitable sales growth for lenses and contact lenses categories. Develops the right product assortments, pricing and programs that create differentiation, acquires new customers, and drives premium product sales. Leads all communication efforts related to lens and contact lens initiatives.


  • Achieves P&L goals by developing and implementing strategies that accomplish Lenses and Contact Lenses P&L goals around sales, customers and profitability.
  • Uses deep understanding of the category and RLB Lenses and Contact lenses business to grow the category.
  • Leads implementation of the 3 year plan initiatives related to lenses and contact lenses.
  • Leverages centralized lens and contact lens sourcing team, cross-functional brand team members and field operations teams to implement strategies and initiatives.
  • Establishes partnership with the EyeCare team and OD community to implement and get buy in for Contact Lens and Lens Strategies.
  • Develops project plans, cross-functional business cases, test plans and launch plans.
  • Defines and implements contact lens and lens platform and assortment, including product of choice menu for contact lenses.
  • Defines customer service (speed of service and customer experience) policies for contact lenses, including in-store inventory levels and delivery policies.
  • Determines optimal pricing and promotional strategy for lenses and contact lenses across RLB brands.
  • Acts as key liaison with sourcing and planning teams to ensure sufficient product supply and defined delivery terms.
  • Initiates and leads development, testing and implementation of new contact lens and lens products.
  • Partners with Marketing team to determine role of lenses and contact lenses in overall Retail Licensed Brands’ marketing roadmap and to develop customer retention and acquisition tactics.
  • Partners with Lens and Contact Lens suppliers and EyeCare team to understand category, competitive landscape, etc.
  • Partners with eComm team to support growing Contact Lens sales online.


  • Bachelor Degree
  • Relevant experience in the optical retail industry
  • 5+ year’s leadership experience in multi-unit industry environment
  • Knowledge of retail industry
  • Strong analytical skills – ability to build complex analytical models to analyze the business and identify opportunities; extract conclusions from available data and formulate recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to digest complex issues, create a plan of attack to address the issue with a cross-functional team and partner to drive towards resolution
  • Strong presentation skills – work independently to create a concise, executive level presentation and present confidently to management team
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced dynamic environment

  • MBA
  • 7+ year’s leadership experience in multi-unit industry environment
  • Product management experience
  • Knowledge of optical retail
  • Knowledge of lens and contact lens category
