GENERAL FUNCTION

The Sr. Manager, Business Development is part of the Strategic Partner Development team that designs innovative programs to achieve growth targets with health plan and ancillary partners across all lines of business (i.e. Commercial, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid).  The team collaborates across the EyeMed business and works directly with the Strategic Partner team to understand client needs, drive competitive insights, and develop innovative programs to accelerate growth.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads end-to-end management of an assigned offering to deploy across current and new offerings
  • Leads development of innovation pipeline for new concepts and assigned offerings – with an initial focus on HEDIS and Quality programs
  • Builds internal awareness around offerings. Serves as a SME for internal resources
  • Leads the development, execution and monetization of new solutions. Works with account management, cross functional teams and external stakeholders in order to implement new solutions
  • Collaborates with account management and business development to identify market / client needs and opportunities.
  • Builds internal awareness for concepts and programs
  • Analyzes data, interviews leadership, and obtains market input to identify and prioritize areas for innovation
  • Makes recommendations, summarizes opportunities, prepares business case to determine investment, and develops go to market execution plan
  • Aligns stakeholders to ensure leadership and executive support
  • Partners with sales and account management leadership to confirm opportunities to introduce assigned offerings
  • Partners with internal teams to deploy innovations on assigned offerings
  • Maintains research and analysis on the competitive environment to evaluate options and ensure competitive positioning across assigned offering
  • Provides input and participates in sales presentations to potential customers
  • Monitors deployment of new innovations and client expansions

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • MS Office Suite proficiency
  • 8+ years’ experience in consulting, health care or related field
  • Benefits, insurance or healthcare industry experience
  • Strong consultative selling skills
  • Understanding of government segments (Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, Fed Gov)
  • Ability to analyze data and develop business insights
  • Analytical skills with ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting required deadlines
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels internally and externally
  • 25-50% travel

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA
  • Knowledge of CRM experience, preferably with Salesforce.com
  • Experience gaining stakeholder alignment, strong negotiation skills
  • Innovative thinker
  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Experiencing exploring and evaluating market trends
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Action oriented with a focus on results
