The Sr Manager, Category Analytics role is a key member of the Category Management team accountable for insights across lens, contact lens and eye wellness product categories, and responsible for performance of these categories at Luxottica Retail Optical North America. The scope of the role includes LensCrafters, Target Optical, and Pearle Vision store and online channels, and other consumer facing businesses as needed in the U.S. and Canada. The objective of the role is to drive growth and profitability of channels through insights and analytics used in commercialization of products, assortment evolution, margin optimization, competitive response, and other business driving levers.

This role requires a strategic mindset, critical thinking, analytical problem solving and quantitative sophistication, as well as initiative, drive, collaboration and service orientation. Also important are an understanding of optical products, familiarity with EssilorLuxottica lab network and business reporting systems, and ability to work with a global community of partners within and outside of EssilorLuxottica.



  • Lead analysis of internal and external market information, customer behaviors and competitive landscape in optical products
  • Track product trends and identify opportunities to meet customer needs better, to compete more effectively, and to improve product growth and margin
  • Create product pricing models to facilitate pricing decisions and new product introductions as well as product assortment changes
  • Develop business cases, estimate ROI and perform other analytical activities to inform category decisions across brands and channels
  • Drive operational and commercial plans through product performance insights, e.g., what is selling, where and why, and how to improve trends
  • Track and measure impact of product related actions and changes across tests, pilots and full-chain initiatives
  • Establish reporting cadence to meet the needs of stakeholders across the organization in N.A. and globally
  • Partner with Finance and RxO to forecast lens mix and AUR, and serve as the single source of truth on lens trends
  • Lead other analytics and reporting initiatives as needed



  • 8+ years of experience in analytics, business/strategy consulting, category management, product strategy, product management, retail operations, consumer marketing (quantitative)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, statistics, finance, engineering or other quantitative fields
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products and Business Objects



  • Self-starter who can operate at a high strategic level as well as be willing to “roll up the sleeves” to advance project work
  • Ability to multi-task and support multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Experience with managing big data sets and extracting actionable insights
  • Execellent interpersonal skills, including strong written and verbal communication, and executive presence to present reports and insights to senior leaders
  • Ability to collaborate with highly technical partners
  • Familiarity with SAP, POS and manufacturing systems
  • MBA strongly preferred
