GENERAL FUNCTION

The Sr. Manager, Training works closely with other members of the Training Team and business partners to develop an execution plan based on business priorities and strategies articulated by the leadership team of L&D.  Additionally, they will collaborate in the development of training program content to achieve business objectives and when appropriate, manage internal and external partners in the development and delivery of programs. This role will also provide reporting aligned with KPIs and build monthly updates to be reviewed with HR and business leadership. They should possess strong skills in all areas of L&D (consultation, design, facilitation, leadership) and have the skills to influence and project manage within the team and across functions.  It is important to also have the ability to think strategically and develop effective training plans.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership and support for Luxottica University initiatives.
  • Partner closely with the businesses, brands and HR team members to deliver best-in-class training solutions laddering up to Corporate Luxottica University and business leadership top priorities and objectives.
  • Create and maintain solid cross-functional relationships in service of managing projects, influencing key initiatives and be the expert in all aspects of L&D
  • Balance competing priorities across strategy and assessment plus project management and execution across Corporate Luxottica University and business initiatives
  • Drive program success for key learner groups across all businesses, included but not limited to, corporate & retail leaders as well as individual contributors
  • Own the coordination and execution of approved strategies, ensuring appropriate initiative prioritization
  • Demonstrate acute planning and follow up skills
  • Own the tracking of project status against key milestones and evaluate ability to achieve timeline
  • Recommend solutions and enhancements
  • Create learning strategies and plans based on key priorities established by the leadership team
  • Contribute ideas and perspective to achieve objectives and determine modality of learning
  • Executive presence: ability to interact with upper level leadership. 
    • Managing projects and evaluating results to us to report back to business
    • Coming to direct supervisor with important information for future needs
    • Remain informed of all Leadership initiatives and training needs of business units
  • Review and provide monthly update on results tied to identified KPIs
  • Keep learning plans alive and updated regularly
  • Identify and maintain processes and tools to drive standardization and efficiency

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • 7+ years of experience
  • Experience with learning and training strategy
  • Experience with L&D, HR or equivalent
  • Experience leading people through influence

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in retail and/or corporate work environment
  • Experience in highly matrixed organization
