The Sr Manager - Pricing is the primary owner of underwriting and pricing activity for the Government (Medicare/Medicaid) lines of business, as well as Medical/Surgical vision coverages. Assesses the impact to organizational objectives, ensuring all financial commitments are met.  The Sr Manager is instrumental in problem-solving on related topics between Underwriting, Provider Relations, Sales, Product, Operations and other operational areas. Participates and manages the development and implementation of new products and other key corporate initiatives that support the overall growth strategy.  The Sr Manager serves as liaison with contracted vendors’ and clients’ Underwriting and Actuarial departments.



  • Leads analysis, pricing, and economic modeling for Vision plans in the Government space (Medicare/Medicaid), and Medical/Surgical eyecare lines. Handles the end-to-end process of new business acquisition pricing and Proforma evaluation of client accounts.
  • Lead the design, pricing and implementation of new Partners, new products, and maintenance of existing business
  • Manages daily workflow and prioritization within a unit and ensures timely release of work.
  • Lead Underwriter in the Government space, providing expert knowledge to ensure compliance with all CMS and/or state insurance laws and regulations.
  • Responsible for documentation of deals, and post-closure analysis of significant accounts
  • Collaborates with Sales and Account Management to adequately identify risks and opportunities to their current financial forecasts / plans.
  • Collaborates with EyeMed’s Reseller Partner’s UW and Actuarial departments when developing new methods and products
  • Provides direction and support for significant strategic product development activities.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to develop, implement, evaluate and communicate training material, as well as provide internal and/or external training as appropriate to effectively convey product features and benefits
  • Understands pricing components and rating methodology as well as use of the predictive modeling tools; prices risk based on financial and competitive analysis



  • BS/BA, BBA in Economics, Finance, statistics, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of analytical work in financial services or insurance
  • 4+ years’ experience in Government lines of business (Medicare/Medicaid), or 4+ years’ experience in Medical underwriting and pricing
  • Analytical skills, including statistics experience/training
  • Good judgment in financial decision making
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated Negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced problem-solving ability and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills



  • MS/MA, MBA in Economics, Finance, Statistics, or related field
  • ASA or currently in Exam track
  • 8+ years’ experience in insurance, financial services, or data analytics role
  • Deep understanding of economics and of the legislation relating to insurance
  • High level of computer literacy
