GENERAL FUNCTION 

The Senior Manager, Vendor Management Program is responsible for building and managing relationships with the companies that provide services to EyeMed. The Sr. Manager is accountable for ensuring that vendors meet or exceed their contractual obligations by delivering quality products and services on time. They are responsible for leading the onboarding of new vendors, reviewing service/contract changes, identifying and resolving escalated issues. They also must ensure vendors are compliant with applicable privacy, security, business continuity, and compliance requirements through annual evaluations, risk assessments, and monitoring of remediations. 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and manage relationships with current and potential vendors that provide services to EyeMed
  • Evaluate potential new suppliers in partnership with functional areas and procurement using industry experience, best practices, quality standards, and financial considerations
    • Explain company expectations and standards and assist in the negotiation of contract terms
    • Develop introduction programs and provide training to familiarize new vendors with EyeMed business processes, systems, and requirements
  • Lead the onboarding of new vendors, reviewing service/contract changes, identifying and resolving escalated issues.
  • Act as the interface between suppliers and EyeMed, including keeping vendors informed on developments in the organization or changes in market conditions that might affect demand for vendors' products or services
  • Partner with Business Owners to ensure that vendors meet or exceed their contractual obligations by delivering quality products and services on time
  • Create and implement a checklist for Business Owners to reference when they onboard, manage and sunset a Vendor within EyeMed.
  • Perform ongoing performance management to monitor delivery, quality, and budget in partnership with the business / functional owners
  • Lead annual risk assessments to ensure vendors are compliant with privacy, security, and business continuity provisions, including site visits and testing as appropriate
  • Leads the Vendor Management Operating Committee's efforts to develop and execute initiatives that continuously improve vendor risk controls.
  • Responsible for providing quarterly updates to the Vendor Management Steering Committee on key vendor risk metrics and progress on key vendor management initiatives. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or relevant field
  • 8+ years experience with vendor management, compliance, or procurement
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Able to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines; demonstrates logical analysis and problem-solving skills
  • An inquisitive and innovative approach to problem-solving and capitalizing on opportunities
  • Prior experience in organizational change management and leadership communications.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft – especially Excel (macros, pivots, lookups, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong solution delivery skills, attention to detail, and a proven ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience or knowledge with healthcare or health insurance
  • Vendor negotiation experience
  • Building a Diverse Supplier network
  • Knowledge of CMS and HIPAA related vendor requirements
  • Experience assessing or facilitating assessments of a vendor's business continuity and IT system security
