GENERAL FUNCTION

The Vice President of EyeMed Provider is the senior executive responsible for leading the Provider organization which includes direct oversight of clinical and standards of care, network contracting and recruiting, provider relations, utilization management, and quality assurance areas. The VP develops and implements programs that deliver provider satisfaction, ensures the resolution of provider issues, leads network growth, and promotes the image of EyeMed in the provider community.  The VP is also responsible for relationships with industry partners and leading strategic provider related initiatives.  The VP reports to the President and is a member of the Executive Leadership Team.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide the strategic leadership for provider contracting, and provider relations & engagement strategies across EyeMed.
  • Define, develop, and deploy a roadmap of new solutions to support provider transformation in the market. Work with cross-functional stakeholders to align and execute the build and deployment of these strategies
  • Work with the leadership team of EyeMed and EssilorLuxottica to develop and implement value new services and products.
  • Resolve pricing and/or client issues around network and non-standard provider requests.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction in the development and implementation of initiatives and related programs targeted at achieving improved Health & Wellness (Disease Identification, Reporting and Management).
  • Establish and implement programs that promote innovative approaches to care and reimbursement, and initiatives that enhance member health and vision health awareness.
  • Direct organizational process review to identify, analyze, recommend, and implement changes to workflow, staff, and organizational structure to transform the provider operations area.
  • Review and recommend clinical policy creation and amendments, and ensures that clinical and quality management programs are in compliance with the terms of our contracts, as well as state and federal regulations and requirements. 
  • Work with Legal and Regulatory Affairs regarding contract development and management including regulatory/compliance requirements; and external and client business needs.
  • Provide visibility and maintains positive provider relationships as a representative of EyeMed, both within EssilorLuxottica and with the external provider community.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, development, motivation, and retention of assigned management staff conforming to budgetary objectives and personnel policies.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Business or related field
  • 12+ years insurance industry experience developing programs and guidance on care, network contracting
  • 7+ years of demonstrated progressive management responsibilities
  • Strong working knowledge of independent and retail provider communities
  • Experience in relationship management and ability to navigate key partnership
  • Ability to resolve conflict
  • Visionary leadership and ability to lay out a comprehensive and executable strategic plan
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Optometry, Ophthalmology or master’s degree in Health Care Administration or other related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in management of health plans, delegated networks, or other related managed care organizations
  • Strong understanding of health care marketplace
  • Executive presence
