The Materials Hander 1 analyzes, troubleshoots and repairs component level, complex technical problems of a broad product line of optical and sun eyewear. Helps maintain all associated repair records and proper entry into database.


  • Maintains files for all work processed.
  • Develops a thorough knowledge of all product lines.
  • Locates imperfections in product eyewear.
  • Provides accurate records of repair activities.
  • Assists in keeping Repair Center well organized and equipment in proper order.
  • Adjusts, repairs or replaces spare parts on frames.
  • Ensures inbound product is refurbished/repaired prior to returning to consumer.
  • Meets and maintains high productivity levels and quality standards as assigned by supervisor.
  • Works with SAP to process, invoice, and ship repaired eyewear back to consumer.
  • Responsible for any additional duties assigned.


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to repair to the component level
  • Possesses basic computer skills
  • Ability to work with others and resolve problems
  • Extraordinary organizational skills
  • Strong data entry and keyboarding skills
  • Clear and effective written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, demonstrated knowledge of MS Office applications, Excel, Word
  • Attention to detail/accuracy
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as requested by Supervisors/Manager
  • Ability to work in a stand/walk position for up to 10 hours
  • Proficient manual dexterity/ability to productively work with small parts


  • Basic knowledge of optics systems, working knowledge of diagnostic test equipment
  • Experience using SAP and/or Excel spreadsheets with data entry (preferably input and retrieval of data) and experience running standard reports from a database system
