GENERAL FUNCTION

The Account Manager, Consumer Electronics plays a critical role in the growth of our wearable technology category. This requires a strong understanding of the consumer electronics market, clear alignment with overall business/brand objectives, and the ability to pioneer the growth of this emerging category for EssilorLuxottica. This role will form partnerships with key consumer electronics retailers, including Best Buy, and internal teams (including marketing, learning & development, supply chain, etc) to ensure successful growth and establishment of the category within the consumer.  This role is responsible for developing partnerships with customers that deliver on Luxottica’s objectives in net sales, profitability, market share, and brand marketing. They will be tasked to develop new business opportunities to maximize sales and increase market share electronics channel.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PLANNING & BUDGETING

  • Collaborate with Sr Director of eCommerce to develop 3-year plans for Best Buy and plan for expansion with other retailers in consumer electronics.
  • Partner with Sales Analyst and Sr Director to develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Develop agendas and presentations for quarterly joint business planning meetings.
  • Support weekly forecasting for shipments and orders.

MARKETING & PROMOTIONAL STRATEGY

  • Partner with marketing teams to plan, develop and deploy in-store visual merchandising to maximize sell-through of Luxottica products.
  • Influence digital advertising strategy with Best Buy and other strategic partners (sponsored ads, display, media) to align with sales objectives.

SUPPLY PLANNING & INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

  • Partner with Best Buy and other consumer electronics partners to forecast and plan buys to minimize out of stocks and maximize turns.
  • Participate in regular reviews of fill rate and inventory planning with our supply planning team.
  • Work with Sales Operations and Compliance to ensure compliance with customer standards for product shipments and returns.

TRAINING AND SELL-THROUGH

  • Organize store and market visits
  • Walk-the-store in both physical and digital environments to ensure optimal presentation of Luxottica products.
  • Support strategy for store associate trainings (digital and in-person) together with Learning & Development team and third-party agencies.
  • Partner with Trade Marketing and third-party agencies to execute in-store sell-through events

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years working in account management in retail, including consumer electronics sales experience.
  • Well informed of consumer electronics industry trends
  • Has a proficient understanding of the shopper journey, including brick & mortar and digital touch-points for omni-channel retailers. Understands how brands use marketing to acquire new consumers.
  • Analytical: Believe in data-driven decision making, test and learn.
  • Passionate: Belief in the power and integrity of our brands. Able to persist through roadblocks to get things done.
  • Capable to craft clear and compelling presentations and communications. Strong negotiation skills and ability to persuade and influence.
  • Excited by big ideas and bold change, ready to do what it takes to bring others along.
  • Strong PC skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience working directly with or for Best Buy
