GENERAL FUNCTION

The Manager of Assortment Execution partners with Central Merchandising and Group Store Planning teams to adapt strategy and deliver product plans to maximize sales and profit. They optimize inventory investment to achieve service level goals, drive execution of merchandising strategies that maximize sales, margin, inventory turnover and customer satisfaction.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Execution: 

  • Collaborate across all levels of the organization and across all functions including Operations, RxO, Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, Retail Planning, Training, Marketing and Communications to communicate and execute a comprehensive product and inventory strategy that aligns future financial and product opportunities.
  • Manage vision to operationalize and implement global strategies at local level with excellence
  • With effectiveness and speed, serve as the subject matter expert providing insights and analysis with local business stakeholders and global partners.
  • Ability to support local market and brand initiatives through preparation and presentations with a strong level of analysis and insights to global partners including but not limited to buying debriefs
  • Preform annual store segmentation and assortment analysis

Store Management:

  • Coordinate and respond to Store Ad hoc requests and inquiries
  • Create and Maintain sophisticated Local Product KPI reporting with qualitative insights at all levels of detail
  • Provide local Insights including Market activity and assortment, store, pricing, and feedback.
  • Build cross functional relationships with corporate and field partners to proactively evolve best practices to deliver continued retail excellence

Inventory:

  • Project manage the execution of the reverse logistics (Recall / RTV) process and timeline in collaboration with the Cross functional partners and Store Operations team
  • Collaborate with Store Operations and Distribution Center to manage assortment execution for store remodels, openings, and closings
  • Point of contact for local product related questions

Project Management:

  • Maintain local activity calendar to aligns to brand provided guidelines
  • Support product management of Product Tests in partnership with Global Retail team and Store Operations team.
  • Provide qualitative feedback on Product tests in support of the local Finance team’s analytics
  • Support all local ad-hoc brand project local initiative

Analytical/admin:

  • Model the way/behavior that you expect from others through clear guiding principles

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years’ work experience in retail planning, buying or merchandising
  • Self-starter who is willing to “roll up the sleeves” to advance project work
  • Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously to meet stringent deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work in ambiguity using sound judgment and critical thinking/strategic skills to provide innovative solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to influence
  • Travel required visiting existing stores, new store openings, and cross-functioning offices
  • Proficient/Advanced computer skills – Excel and PowerPoint/Presentation Skills (SAP is a plus)
  • Excel in a highly matrixed organization
