The Manager of Product Strategy is responsible for the creation of branded/private label (PL) eyewear products both sunglasses and prescription glasses. Collaborates with local and global development, design, sourcing and technical teams to bring to market products that are in accordance with collection and Luxottica standards.



  • Collaborates with licensor and internal cross-functional teams to ensure development of products that meets the business strategy and fashion direction of the branded collection.
  • Responsible for analyzing business and product trends while simultantisly collecting market feedback on branded product and incorporates learnings into future collections.
  • Serves as the expert on aesthetic aspects of product development which inclues interpretation of 2D/3D drawings, optical knowledge, understanding of frame construction and basic lens technology.
  • Works closely with design, product development, sourcing, technical and production teams in to manage the industrialization/commercialization of models to bring to market. This includes daily communications with factories on product aesthetics and techniques to ensure industrialized models meet collection approved standards.
  • Manages development timelines to ensure all steps in development are completed to meet the global market requirement.
  • Manages product and technique development to ensure market competitiveness, support collection requirements and achieve margin goals.
  • Leads specific innovation and technique research projects to present to the Director of Product Strategy and License, Product Development and Design teams. This includes research with factories in both Italy and China on new concepts/techniques leading to creation of presentations for meetings.
  • Promotes department process improvements ensuring alignment with global processes and strategies.
  • Manages and maintains accuracy of data in multiple development systems.



  • BA/BS in Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management or Business Administration
  • 5+ years’ experience in product development, merchandising or retail buying
  • Strong communications and organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Office: Excel, Word, Power Point



  • Licensed Optician or eyewear experience
  • Product development experience
  • PLM systems
