The Director of HR will act as a trusted partner in providing HR leadership and guidance to a fast paced, results driven, sales organization, specifically supporting the Sport and Military sales teams. The Director HR is an integral member of a cross functional HR team, collaborating closely with key internal stakeholders within HR and other functions in a complex, matrixed organization. The Director HR will be critical in strategizing on key HR and change management initiatives aimed at enabling the salesforce in mobilizing on key business priorities and strategy.



  • Partners with the executive team to build talent strategy by helping leaders to identify and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, and structures
  • Operates a human capital coach/consultant to leaders to achieve business strategy
  • Own workforce planning, succession planning and organizational design
  • Builds alignment and consensus to move HR strategy/projects forward. Translates recommendations into action plans
  • Counsels executive sales leaders on how to drive sales performance and motivation to achieve positive business results
  • Provides leadership coaching and risk mitigation support to the client group in managing complex employee relation issues across a broad sales population
  • Develops and promotes feedback mechanisms for employees and managers to influence continuous improvement of HR services and processes
  • Actively identifies and seeks to resolve drivers of employee turnover
  • Advocates for initiatives that will positively impact the employee population
  • Manages delivery and improvement of key HR initiatives: Onboarding, Performance Management, Compensation Planning, Talent Management, Succession Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Supports sales managers to identify the organizational requirements needed to sustain a high performing organization and to develop a strong talent pipeline
  • Partners with HR COE to provide organizational insights into talent needs/gaps; focusing on initiatives that will retain high potential talent
  • Provides expert counsel, advice and coaching to managers and employees and advises leadership on all employee relations and performance management matters (conflict resolution, complaints and critical investigations) in order to move toward resolution
  • Supports employee populations in both our NYC and Port Washington, NY offices as well as the field



  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in Human Resources Management
  • Must think strategically to connect the dots and navigate the organization
  • Strong business acumen and clear understanding of the link between HR and business strategy
  • Agile, flexible learner who adapts quickly in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment
  • Action oriented in driving initiatives/projects forward
  • Aptitude to engage, inspire, and influence at all levels including senior leadership
  • Expert knowledge of HR policies and processes (e.g., workforce planning and talent management)
  • Flexibility between our NYC and Port Washington, NY offices is required
  • Travel 10 – 15%
  • Strong comfort level using Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)



  • Experience driving organizational change in a wholesale environment
  • Understanding of various sales compensation/pay models
