GENERAL FUNCTION

The L&D Manager is responsible for knowledge management and education of the North American account base in terms of product, brand, and sell out, with a primary focus on digital education through Leonardo and other 3rd party LMS. The Manager develops, implements and manages the Learning and Education initiatives for the Luxottica US Sport Brand Division (Oakley, Costa, Native and Ray-Ban Sport), in addition to developing local training strategy, tactics and execution based on commercial strategy. This role collaborates with the Global Leonardo Corporate team, Sales Leaders, Field Marketing and Third Channel team in order to drive strategy and execution of sport brand training and education.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for building & delivering a 360-brand education program including training calendar for North America aligned with the sport brands (Oakley, Costa, Native & Ray-Ban sport) strategic plans and marketing deliverables across the US & Canada.
  • Partner and foster relationships with key stakeholders in business to identify training needs and create innovative learning strategies and solutions across Marketing and Sales teams.
  • Define and drive digital strategy for Leonardo engagement.
  • Own 3rd party Learning Management programs for Key Account & Strategic sport partners.
  • Ensures the day-to-day management of training plans as a business booster to support the sales team and answer to the needs of the distribution model across category (Optics and AFA) and channel specific strategic initiatives (National and Regional).
  • Provides sell-in and sell-thru support to educate sales reps, aid sales reps in the sell-in process and train sales associates that sell Luxottica sport brand products.
  • Adapts all the training tools for market relevance (including digital) and cascades appropriate training materials through train-the-trainer modules to sales representatives, Field Marketing and Third Channel.
  • Ensures the highest level of service to customers and develops custom training programs for key retailers across each channel of distribution (National and L&R).
  • Owns and manages the schedule of all online training deliverables, Virtual Classroom digital training and Mad Science app roll out 

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Learning & Education, Communications or related field with training
  • Budget management experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in assets creation programs Adobe Suite and Rise Articulate
  • Proficient in training platforms, modules, tracking, etc. (digitally savvy)
  • Proven track record on managing/building teams
  • Excellent presentation and project management skills
  • Attention to detail, solutions and results oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple marketing activities in a fast-paced environment
  • Confident in developing relationships with internal business stakeholders and suppliers
  • Good knowledge of local retail market
  • Position requires travel domestically and internally (~30%-50%)
