GENERAL FUNCTION

The Senior Manager of Business Development will lead initiatives to support the identification, evaluation, prioritization, development and launch of new strategic business initiatives, investments and/or partnerships which are accretive to the brand P&L.  This position will require strategic collaboration across the company, within the brand and with key external partners related to new business investments or opportunities.

 Unlike in other strategy/ business development groups, the role is not limited to planning but reaches far into implementation and execution as well; as such the Sr. Manager is expected to bring subject matter expertise and fresh thinking to the team, shape practical strategies and programs, and stay focused on delivering meaningful results

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyzing industry trends, the competitive landscape, and key industry players to evaluate new growth opportunities and develop implementation plans
  • Develop and present investment business plans for strategic investment activity
  • Foster strategic partnerships to support and enhance prioritized business opportunities
  • Support the development of various areas of internal strategic growth, including but not limited to 3 year planning, assessing brand portfolio and inclusion of new revenue streams that can lead to new paths of servicing the customer and increasing the organic sales growth
  • Create executive communication material to assist with tradeoffs and decision making
  • Lead growth initiatives in new categories or channels for the brand
  • Manage complex new work streams within the business to drive business growth
  • Build organizational & operational requirements from concept to launch for new business initiatives while working in collaboration with broad cross functional team
  • Develop and lead the project schedule along with project milestones, risks, and dependencies on critical strategic initiatives for the brand
  • Support the implementation of approved new business initiatives by executing the strategic plans and business terms that have been agreed upon
  • Track emerging market trends and innovation as well as the competitive landscape

 

 BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 8 years in developing business initiatives
  • Very strong analytical and modeling skills; ability to interpret analytical findings into relevant, actionable and understandable business insights and actions
  • Strong communication skills:
    • Writes and presents effectively;
    • Strong ability to adapt delivery and style to fit the audience and message;
    • Able to deliver messages that are well received and clearly understood
  • Entrepreneurial drive and analytical mindset
  • Excellent prioritization skills with a clear focus on results

  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA
  • Top-tier strategy consulting experience
  • Able to find solutions to difficult and highly complex problems
  • Able to extract information quickly, fill in gaps, when working in situations where limited data is available
  • Demonstrated success in problem solving, collaboration and communication
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify/address problems and meet deadlines
  • Able to define an effective process, work flow, and systems design; and capable of developing measurable metrics to track progress
