GENERAL FUNCTION

The New Store Opening Manager manages and coordinates the successful execution of all new store openings, remodels and relocations. Will be a key liaison between the Field Leadership/Store Teams and Shared Services partners to ensure the success of New Store, Relocations and Remodels across the fleet. Will serve as the liaison between the field teams and the Maintenance department to ensure all maintenance needs for the brand are met and addressed. This includes upkeep of the fleet, natural disasters, special projects and other maintenance related work streams.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides leadership and support to ensure the field is positioned to execute with excellence.
  • Builds and fosters collaborative relationships with all brand team members, field leadership key partners and vendors.
  • Establishes team priorities, schedules, calendars, service level agreements, and follow-up in dynamic and demanding environment.
  • Develops realistic plans, action steps and time tables for projects and assignments.
  • Enhances and sustains Store Opening, Remodel, Relocation and Closing manuals and processes.
  • Oversees all operational aspects of the Store Opening, Remodel, Relocation process from project start to finish.
  • Develops project plans, overall action items and specific deliverables.
  • Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives.
  • Manages post-implementation issues.
  • Escalates issues such as burglaries, natural disasters and other unforeseen issues in a timely fashion to cross functional partners.
  • Partner with the Store Excellence Team to ensure stores have the proper tools and knowledge of tools to aid with upkeep of the store.
  • Work closely with the Fleet team to identify key locations for remodels, maintenance market intensification and relocations.
  • Effectively escalate open tickets in the maintenance portal database to ensure stores’ maintenance needs are met in a timely fashion.
  • Performs other various duties related to retail operations.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years increasing responsibility in store operations role(s)
  • 5+ years of corporate retail experience supporting a brand
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • Highly organized with ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to navigate and make decisions without clear direction
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of time, able and willing to work weekends and extended hours as required
  • Ability to influence/negotiate and hold others accountable
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with many levels of management
  • Working knowledge of store operations
  • Understanding of construction timelines and terminologies
  • Knowledge of Windows based applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in a retail store is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration
  • Project Management experience within retail, familiar with project management techniques, tools and methodologies
  • Ability to read and understand architectural documents
  • Comprehension of retail industry safety and operational controls
  • Basic Construction knowledge
