GENERAL FUNCTION 

The Business Data Analyst supports the development of comprehensive reporting & business analysis for the multiple channels of trade; evaluating shipment, retail sell through, financial data and other critical data to identify trends to assess opportunities within both the optical and retail markets. This role helps support commercial and leadership decisions by providing validated performance analytics and recurring reporting based on core KPIs within a complex business portfolio.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

Reporting:

 

· Supports the management of consistent wholesale institutional reporting across all sales channels

· Ensures the accurate alignment of commercial sales reports with financial reporting

· Responsible for quarterly door count collection and reporting across all channels and brands

· Leads the timely distribution of commercial target tracking & reconciliation reporting

· Assist with the validation & development of Sell Out (POS) reporting for retail partners

Data Integrity:

· Influences the development of tools to improve efficiencies that limit manual data manipulation.

· Partners with corporate BI and local IT to ensure the consistency and accuracy of key metrics

· Maintains customer & product alignments (ex, account moves ,customer/ product mapping)

Leadership & Commercial Support:

· Supports scheduled BI system training (BO,FFD) & general system inquiry responses

· Works closely with management team to prepare for internal and customer business meetings

· Develops Adhoc data analysis to support various functions (ex, marketing, sales & finance teams)

· Assist in the development of marketplace analytics and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for the Luxottica USA business.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, finance, any data science or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role involving business, merchandising or marketing/brand analysis
  • Demonstrated experience working with multiple data sources
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate user needs into reporting solutions; understands relevant business area issues and implications
  • Ability to successfully collaborate with internal and external customers to achieve goals
  • Advanced Excel, Power Point

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in the use of Business Objects or SAP
  • Knowledge of Tableau/ Microsoft Dynamics (Power BI, Power Apps, Azure), SQL a plus
