The Demand Planner is responsible for contributing to profit and growth of the North America Wholesale division by supporting the planning, purchasing and maintenance of effective inventory levels. Mines data and produces reports, metrics and analysis to maximize the performance and efficiency of the planning process. Measures and forecasts performance for the channels of trade, plans purchases and manages inventory to achieve financial objectives (maximizing sales potential, minimizing loss from phase-outs and stock-outs). Liaises with Sales teams, Product, Customer Service, Corporate Planning and other cross functional groups to achieve collaboration and consensus and high level of service level to our customers.


  • Creates and maintains sku level demand plans to be used in procuring the needed inventory flow from manufacturing; measures performance of forecasting accuracy.
  • Monitors inventory levels to ensure adequate supply maximizing service level as well as identify risk from excess inventory. Identifies trends at the sku level through ABC analysis, point-of-sale data and account usage reports.
  • Provides Director, Inventory Planning & Forecasting with key analysis and direction of forecasts to maximize decision making ability.
  • Conducts and provides analysis of key performance indicators (KPI) among product lines and accounts.
  • Manages purchasing process for new and active items from overseas manufacturing plants using rate of sale, door counts, seasonality and 3-6 month production lead time, optimizing control of inventory expenditures.
  • Monitors, identifies and coordinates other internal and external inventory locations to improve supply efficiency and order fill rate.
  • Fosters consensus and collaboration in the planning process through working with the Sales, Product, Marketing and Corporate Planning teams.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
  • 2+ years’ experience in a Planning role
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to forecast, analyze and prepare statistical data and metrics
  • Ability to manage/mine data from multiple sources to create necessary reports and databases
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Ability to extract conclusions from available data and “tell a story”
  • Expert PC skills, especially MS Excel and Access


  • 2+ years’ experience in Demand Planning
  • Professional certification (APICS or IBF)
  • Experience and understanding of fashion industry
  • Prior experience with SAP
  • Prior experience with planning software (such as SAP APO or Manugistics)
