The Financial Analyst develops departmental budgets and variance analyses, prepares forecast and profitability analyses, compiles and analyzes performance across brands, geographies, and channels of trade, prepares and analyzes monthly financial data, and supports overall controlling activities for operating expenses for the North American Wholesale Division.



  • Develops, maintains, documents, and improves upon complex financial models for forecasting and budgeting purposes with an emphasis on non-labor operating expenses.
  • Identifies opportunities to automate, streamline and improve reporting and budgeting procedures, and exploits those opportunities through implementation.
  • Implements and maintains financial reporting by channel of trade; becomes the point of contact for business leaders.
  • Supports month-end closing process and controlling procedures by preparing other selling expense journal entries and accruals for Shared Services accounting team.
  • Analyzes and reports month-end results, providing both quantitative and qualitative drivers of variance for non-labor operating expenses.
  • Prepares recurring and ad hoc travel and expense schedules as needed for executive financial packages and distribution to key business partners.
  • Tracks other selling expenses and generates monthly reporting vs approved spending amounts.
  • Coordinates information gathering with Finance and Accounting for financial reports, analyses, and presentations to aid in the decision-making process.
  • Performs on-going analysis of budgetary status and impact of supplemental needs and requests, prepares periodic and ad hoc analyses of Budget/Forecast versus Actual, prepares and maintains supporting documentation.
  • Works cooperatively with other disciplines and accepts direction from supervisors.
  • Prepares management reports for Corporate and senior Luxottica management.
  • Runs reports and queries data using Company’s financial package to collect information for financial planning.



  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in Financial Analysis
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting
  • Solid understanding of General Accounting
  • Experienced and proficient in the financial analysis discipline
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build the business through improved analysis, trending and reporting
  • Sound business judgment and strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated team-builder, with the ability to work collaboratively with other individuals and disciplines
  • Innovative style with a “roll-up-the-sleeves” attitude



  • MBA / CPA, a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP and/or Hyperion/Essbase
  • Experience in a multi-national company
