GENERAL FUNCTION

The Sr Forecasting Planner is responsible for contributing to profit and growth of all channels of trade of the AFA Wholesale Division by supporting the demand planning, purchasing and maintenance of effective inventory levels.

The Senior Forecasting Planner collaborates with the Region Sales Teams and cross-functional Business Partners to ensure we have a comprehensive Global POS and Shipment forecasts rollup that encompasses historical data, customer insights, marketplace trends and promotional plans.. He/she will also own and review the Open to Buy target in order to ensure that spending is aligned with budget.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the monthly Global Region Forecast rollups in partnership with each of the Region Sales Teams
  • Collaborate with the Sales Team and both internal and external business partners to develop POS forecasts and create Shipment & POS forecasts based on WOS targets and On-Hand inventory needs
  • Create and maintain sku level demand plans to be used in procuring the needed inventory flow from manufacturing
  • Identify trends at the sku level through ABC analysis, point-of-sale data and account usage reports
  • Conduct monthly forecast reviews, providing key insights to forecasts trends, risks and opportunities
  • Ad hoc analysis to identify sales opportunities, risks and anomalies
  • Manage monthly bottom-up/top-down forecast reconciliation process and Open to Buy alignment. Actively participate in the Budgeting exercise 2 times a year building bottom ups by brands based on distribution and sell out performances
  • Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly analysis and reports as required.
  • Conducts and provides analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) among product lines, accounts and error forecast
  • Monitors product flows from sources and provides visibility of future product availability.
  • Promotes and activates special actions to reduce obsolescence and excess inventory
  • Monitors fulfillment activities and proactively manages exceptions for inventory shortages and delays, including aging of inventory, which may occur.
  • Supports and assists project teams with data collection, analysis and presentation/reporting.
  • Researches backorder and out of stock issues, works with supply chain teams to correct.
  • Makes recommendations to maximize profitability and productivity working with Merchandising team on the promotional and discounting plan

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Supply Chain, Management Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Forecasting, Demand Planning, preferably in Apparel, Footwear & Accessories
  • Robust quantitative approach to discussions
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills to provide statistics and metrics
  • Ability to turn data into useful insights
  • Excellent PC skills including MS Office and SAP
  • Excel – ability/aptitude to learn/create spreadsheets using advanced formulas (V-lookups, IF statements, pivot tables, macros)
  • Experience working on a legacy/enterprise database system and input and retrieve data
  • Database – ability/aptitude to access reports, build and manipulate queries
