The Regional Vice President, Commercial Sales (RVP) is a member of the Commercial Leadership Team and is responsible for facilitating membership growth through brokers, partners, and clients in targeted markets. The RVP is responsible for the overall executive presence and oversight of sales leadership deployed in market. The RVP also serves as a subject matter expert in support of other growth and development areas as assigned. The successful RVP will exceed sales targets across markets, manage industry relationships, support consistent sales process, and build high performing sales teams.



  • Participates in Commercial Leadership Team with collective oversight and development of:
    • Market business plans which include identification of top prospects, unique market needs, regional competitive insight, and strategies to achieve growth targets
    • Sales process accountability and compliance
    • Sales tools / CRM compliance, KPI measurement, and accurate result tracking
    • Messaging, marketing, and communication plans to drive results
    • Innovative product offerings that enhance right to win
  • Support leadership in building sustainable, high performing sales teams:
    • Profile development, recruitment, selection and hiring of new talent
    • Evaluates performance of sales team, partners with internal resources to develop training, performance management, corrective action, and coaching strategies where necessary
    • Engages in talent assessment and sales development programs to ensure strong talent pipeline and succession planning
    • Recognizes high performance and builds opportunities for sharing of best practices
  • Exceeds annual sales goals and related objectives:
    • Partners with market leaders to acquire knowledge about sales opportunities and influences success in closing new business
    • Leads evaluation of market opportunities and influences market leaders to improve client experience and generate additional revenue through new sales
    • Manages needs with internal departments to meet requirements of market leaders / sales teams and manage client expectations 
    • Participates in introductory, relationship building, and finalist meetings to foster strong partnerships and growth
    • Provides effective performance management, constructive feedback, and coaching to market leaders and sales teams to continually develop and improve team performance
  • Maintains high level of industry, process, product, and competitive knowledge
  • Directs troubleshooting and resolution of high level questions or concerns



  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • 12+ years of experience in sales / client facing role
  • Previous experience leading sale teams with demonstrated success in achieving results
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high performing teams
  • Executive presence, strong customer focus
  • Excellent negotiation skills, experience building contract terms
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to coach and provide constructive feedback
  • Strong relationship building skills with both internal stakeholders and external clients
  • Possession of or ability to obtain required license(s) within sixty (60) days of hire
  • Ability to travel required



  • MBA or related advanced degree
  • Experience in the health insurance field with exposure to group benefits
  • Experience with managed vision care products
