GENERAL FUNCTION

This position is responsible for providing daily work direction, guidance and training to junior technicians while performing work in one or more of the manufacturing areas, highly focused on providing support for the Oakley manufacturing team responsible for performing quality added preventive maintenance activities to ensure maximum machine uptime, leading root cause analysis activities and working with Tech Support manager/supervisor to develop fool proof problem solving resolutions.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This role serves as primary lead for the Tech Support technicians interacting with department technicians and supervisors to ensure maintenance trouble calls are being completed in a timely manner escalating major downtime and or outages to Tech Support manager.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair manufacturing and test equipment.
  • Develop engineering solutions to improve quality of product, increase up time and prevent similar failure modes.
  • Research new equipment, develop PM plans and spares inventory. Initiate, coordinate and execute projects that improve safety, quality, productivity, delivery and cost.
  • Document all repairs and work on a daily basis, understand and utilizes the information collected to identify areas for improvement including project management, equipment installation, development of documentation, and maintenance programs.
  • Works safely and maintains a safe, organized and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Performing all other duties and responsibilities as needed.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Team Lead experience; able to interface with contractors and other Oakley departments
  • High degree of electro-mechanical skill required
  • Familiar with fluid power and pneumatics
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly
  • Must be qualified electrician with 120V-220V and 3 phase 480VAC experience
  • Understanding of maintenance techniques
  • Motivated, self-starter, analytical skills, interpersonal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn new technologies
  • Good understanding of computers.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Initiative and proactive behavior in work environment.
  • Ability to work more than 8-hours a day, weekends and holidays as needed.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • SAP or any CMMS experience
  • Fabrication skills, welding, and machining
  • Injection molding, vacuum coating or paint manufacturing experience
  • A. or certification from technical training program in electrical repair and maintenance
