GENERAL FUNCTION

The Process Engineer devises new approaches to problem solving while working closely on processes to improve/sustain problems, troubleshoot issues and enhance overall operations.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understands KPIs pertaining to the position and specific target for each of the KPIs.
  • Uses Lean and Six Sigma tools to optimize the KPIs to meet and exceed targets.
  • Manages multiple small scale projects in a dynamic fast paced environment in addition to occasional long term (2-4 months) projects.
  • Assesses processes for their relevance and adequacy of engineering equipment.
  • Ensures that all aspects of an operation or process meet specified health & safety regulations.
  • Meets/exceeds goals by creating an aggressive project plan.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Chemical engineering
  • 2+ years high volume manufacturing experience
  • Experience in developing, validating and improving processes
  • Experience with leading root cause investigations related to scrap, customer returns, CAPA etc. and implementing permanent solutions that prevent reoccurrence
  • Proven experience of using DMAIC methodology and associated tools such as cause and effect diagrams, process map, FMEA, SPC, DOE etc.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools such as Gemba, 5S, OEE etc.
  • Willingness to be hands-on and spending over 75% of any given day on the production floor as needed
  • Good communication skills and ability to interface with related departments
  • Ability to work on broad range of assignments with minimum supervision
  • Ability to implement processes that have delivered MEASURABLE benefits on Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingual – English plus Spanish.
  • Coating experience
