The process improvement engineer is responsible to employ their technical and analytical skills to identify and deploy process improvements to Warehouse and Logistics operations.



  • Conduct facility and process design reviews to achieve improved methods, layouts, and workflows
  • Establish labor standards performing time studies to ensure accurate resource planning and high service level
  • Develop SOPs / work Instructions for all functional areas
  • Evaluate and design new layouts for storage rack, pick modules, and other material handling solutions for facility.
  • Identify opportunities and leads process improvement projects to drive cost savings
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Prepare presentation material and conduct training for regular/temp employees and continuous improvement roll outs
  • Analyze labor data, finance data, and key matrices to make improvement recommendations and conduct cost/benefit analysis
  • Facilitate LEAN methodology and recommend solutions to specific business case issues
  • Understand and apply essential LEAN elements including workflow smoothing, JIT, and Jidoka
  • Lead lean initiatives using proven industry methods and tools such as SixSigma, DMAIC, value-stream mapping, and 5S
  • Educate team members in LEAN expanding knowledge base to support and develop a sustainable continuous improvement culture
  • Work with leadership to drive continuous improvement programs, Kaizen events, and workshops
  • Set the standard for innovation within strategic and operational problem solving



  • BS in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience performing Engineering/Technical tasks
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively communicate process and technical concepts to a variety of audiences from entry level warehouse employee to executive level
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • The employee will lift up to 25lbs and is required to work in office and warehouse environments
  • The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and temperate climate conditions



  • Master of Science or MBA
  • CSCP and/or CPIM Certification
  • SAP Knowledge
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Project Management, and Outlook
  • Previous Inventory Management experience
  • Previous Warehousing experience in fast paced warehousing, distribution center, or direct fulfillment centers
