GENERAL FUNCTION

The Coordinator- Claims (Payments) will complete payment analytical functions to resolve payment transactions. This role will also audit payments, liaise with payment vendors, and ensure all payments are processed in a timely and satisfactory manner. This role will act as a liaison to Claims Supervisors, Call Center Supervisors and other internal customers to resolve claim payments issues.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute and validate the integrity of payment data in the EyeMed payments system.
  • Liaise with vendors to ensure proper controls are being met in the fulfillment of EyeMed payments.
  • Liaise Work with vendors to create and maintain EOBs and ensure proper controls are being met in the fulfillment of RAs and EOBs.
  • Assist in driving payment issue resolution and working with internal customers, vendors, and IT to identify concerns, create plans to solve, and ensure the team is meeting the needs of our constituents (plans, members and providers).
  • Identify and communicate payments trends, issue status and issue resolution with the goal of improving the effectiveness of the department to the Payments Supervisor.
  • Establish and maintain customer service vision for the payments team by driving systems and process improvements as needed.
  • Maintains effective, on-going communication with key customer interfaces with key internal and external constituents.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma
  • 3+ year of experience in data processing
  • Knowledge of PCs and spreadsheet applications
  • Knowledge of mid-range computer applications and query reporting
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 years of process management
  • Working knowledge of Facets, SAP, Business Objects
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills
