GENERAL FUNCTION

Responsible for development of departmental budgets, forecasts, etsimates, etc, working closely with both operational owners and finance leadership to ensure financial commitments are met. Performs monthly variance analyses and prepares necessary accruals/accounting adjustments to ensure accurate financial closures. Partners with market FP&A teams to reconcile monthly service charges (properly allocated/recorded). Prepares and reviews financial reports/KPIs, providing input to management and maintaining a list of risks/opportunities for their respective areas of responsibility.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partners with operational management to build departmental budgets and forecasts; develops, maintains, documents and improves upon financial models.
  • Supports month-end closing process and controlling procedures by identifying and preparing adjusting journal entries and accruals for accounting; works closely with market FP&A to ensure service charges are correctly allocated/billed.
  • Performs monthly variance analysis, researching and confirming financial variances, timing, etc; follow up with management to address over spend situations to ensure integrity of financial commitments.
  • Coordinates information gathering within and across functional areas in support of financial reports, analyses and presentations required by management.
  • Identifies opportunities to automate, streamline and improve processes/tools.
  • Analyzes special projects to determine financial impact on the business.
  • Works cooperatively with other disciplines and accepts direction from supervisors.
  • Prepares management reports to meet both local and corporate requirements.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 5+ years’ work experience preferably in Commercial Analysis
  • Proficiency with Excel and SAP
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the financial analysis discipline
  • Effective communication and listening skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset; pro-actively identifying opportunities to improve both process and/or the business
  • Strong learning agility; ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances
  • Effectively manages time and effort to achieve necessary tasks given shifting priorities
  • Proven experience working independently

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA and/or CPA
  • Demonstrates leadership skills throughout ownership of projects, working proactively, and seeking out new opportunities
