GENERAL FUNCTION       

The Product and Innovation team supports EyeMed by generating critical insights using structured analysis, ensuring cross functional alignment across priorities, and helping the organization drive strategic initiatives forward with hands on support.  

The Manager – Strategy (Strategic Initiatives) is a key problem solver for organizational initiatives on a development path to lead major efforts.  The role interacts with EyeMed executive leadership, supporting and conducting analyses, facilitating discussions, developing recommendations, and creating action plans.  The Manager – Strategy (Strategic Initiatives) will have the opportunity to work across all functions within the organization as a way of building a foundational understanding of the end-to-end operations of EyeMed. The Manager – Strategy (Strategic Initiatives) will experience problem solving across a variety of issues, from broad topics such as strategic planning, to in-depth topics such as taking process improvements.  Along the way, leadership will provide mentoring and coaching to help prepare this team of strategic thinkers for broader leadership roles.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Researches, synthesizes and develops perspectives and recommendations on critical business issues using both internal and external sources of information
  • Leads development of specific action plans with business leaders across the organization
  • Leads cross functional teams and ensures deliverables are on time and within budget
  • Facilitates discussions via appropriate communication material to assist with trade-off and decision making
  • Helps identify, track, and manage high-visibility corporate projects for the Executive Leadership Team
  • Supports strategic partnerships and M&A, acting as liaison with both internal and external partners
  • Acts as a thought partner for EyeMed leadership

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or graduate degree in a management, technical or engineering field
  • 2-3 years in a strategy role with top-tier consulting firm or corporate strategy team
  • Ability to lead/ project manage cross functional teams working on complex, operational and strategic initiatives
  • Strong interpersonal skills, maturity, and good business judgment
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced dynamic environment
  • Excellent prioritization skills with a clear focus on results
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills, with proven ability to interpret data-driven findings into relevant, actionable and understandable business insights and actions
  • Ability to combine strategic vision with everyday tactical detail and a strong urge for action
  • Strong communication skills: writes and presents effectively; strong ability to adapt delivery and style to fit the audience and message; able to deliver messages that are well received and clearly understood
  • Demonstrated success in problem solving
  • Experience facilitating collaboration

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Top-tier strategy consulting experience
  • Retail, wholesale or healthcare industry experience
  • International exposure and global experience
