The Sr. Manager of Business Development for Government Programs manages and executes the data driven, consultative sales process for Medicare Advantage and Medicaid opportunities. The Sr. Manager works internally with health plan account management teams to identify and cultivate opportunities for cross selling within the existing customer base. The Sr. Manager will supports the Senior Director with the development, execution and monetization of additional solutions tailored to meet the needs of an increasingly complex health insurance market.


  • Utilizes a data driven and a consultative sales approach to demonstrate EyeMed Government Program return on investment for current and potential reseller clients.
  • Manages the sales process with internal and external stakeholders; analyzes data and develops insights in collaboration with the Sr. Director of Government Programs.
  • Collaborates with the Sr. Director of Government Programs to craft the initial “story” and “win themes” for each unique opportunity. Presents to potential customers as well as works through the sales process as opportunities are tracked and managed.
  • Works with the health plan sales team; account management team and the Sr. Director of Government Programs to identify, prioritize and execute against cross selling opportunities to offer new Medicare Advantage and Medicaid solutions for our existing customers.
  • Manages the pipeline, forecast upcoming membership impacts and interface with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Builds internal awareness around our Government Program solutions (Medicare Advantage and Medicaid). Serves as a SME for internal resources.
  • Supports the development, execution and monetization of new Government Programs solutions. Works with account management, cross functional teams and external stakeholders as we implement new solutions.
  • Interfaces with our Government Programs Center for Excellence and cross functional leadership in executing Government Programs solutions.


  • College degree
  • 8+ years’ experience in consulting, health care or related field
  • MS Office Suite proficiency
  • Strong consultative selling skills
  • 25-50% travel
  • Data analytics


  • Experience analyzing insurance claims sets and provider analytics
  • Ability to develop PowerPoint presentations (from storyboarding to final delivery)
  • Deep understanding of the health care/managed care environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including client presentations
