GENERAL FUNCTION

The Financial Analyst plays a key support role in the LensCrafters Sales and Labor Team, with responsibility for labor planning, weekly/monthly business reporting (including report writing/maintenance and distribution), trend analysis, forecasting and process improvement recommendations and other ad hoc reporting and analyses.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand retail staffing and scheduling processes, identify gaps and root causes; propose and implement new solution
  • Assists team with development of complex spreadsheets and query tools, automation formulas, and custom formatting of reports. Manipulates data (merging or importing/exporting) to provide more useful information.
  • Investigates/validates/analyzes/updates labor forecasts accordingly.
    • Hour/Shift guidance, Commissions
    • Use of forecasting and statistical models
  • Develops methodology and functionality to automate and streamline reporting with Kronos Workforce Analytics and business objects.
  • Updates labor forecasting processes and shift guidance to incorporate logic with all database views, reports and interfaces.
  • Collaborate in team environment and independently with vendors, business partners and technology teams on projects, support activities to drive key initiatives
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement via SQL, Macro automation or business objects.
  • Ensures integrity of data and assists in auditing accuracy
  • Participates in user acceptance testing, regression testing for key workforce projects
  • Participates in special projects.
  • Support scheduling a delivering daily and weekly operational reports
  • Communicates to field team and leadership.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree Finance/Accounting/Math/ Computer Science/Data Science
  • 1+ year(s) Retail workforce systems (Kronos, JDA, etc) or Financial Planning and Analysis experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Macros - ability to troubleshoot and create new Macros
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Access
  • Proficiency with Business Objects
  • Proficiency with standard SQL
  • Motivated self-starter who is willing to accept new responsibilities as processes change/improve
  • Strong Systems experience and aptitude
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills
  • Ability to communicate complex processes to Senior Management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Curiosity to research issues and willingness to expand breadth of knowledge
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Innovative and proactive to drive improvement and change
  • 2-5+ years related retail experience
  • 2-5+ years labor system, retail systems

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Retail Time Keeping systems experience
  • Experience in working with R, Python or applying IBM analytics software to business problems, SPSS statistics, forecasting and SPSS Modeler
