The Facilities Engineer executes strategic initiatives that support the needs of the Manufacturing and Process Engineering Departments throughout Luxottica's manufacturing network. 



  • Develop, create specifications, obtain quotes, and execute small infrastructure projects to support Engineering and Operations as needed.
  • Interact daily with onsite contractors and Vendors to provide guidance and monitor progress to ensure timely and safe completion of projects
  • Analyze project needs from Engineering and Operations and provide Value engineering solutions.
  • Coordinate multiple contractor and Vendor activities
  • Coordinate exterior project activities such as equipment deliveries, unloading, rigging, and crane work.
  • Establish project schedules and Gantt charts to help monitor project progress
  • Act as a liaison between the different departments at Luxottica and the contractors to schedule installations, equipment movements, and contractor work.
  • Communicate company contractor safety policies with contractors and monitor compliance.
  • Represent Luxottica to local officials and inspectors from the County and State.
  • Provide written project updates as needed.
  • Write purchase order requests in SAP and monitor payment
  • Review Vendor invoices for approval
  • Establish a surplus equipment list with photos for RXO operations Sites and maintain
  • Assist with business case development for infrastructure projects
  • Manages major project initiatives such as facility construction, capacity expansions, corporate-wide process initiatives, and equipment installations.
  • Develops and prepares specifications and design requirements for facility construction, modifications and infrastructure (mechanical, electrical and plumbing).
  • Ensures project success by effectively utilizing project milestones, budgets, reports, and other means of communication to the organization.
  • Executes project objectives through other, multi-discipline team members.
  • Develops and prepares performance specifications, negotiates with vendors, and executes on equipment installations and infrastructure needed such as electrical, plumbing, and rigging..
  • Provides engineering support and leadership in Environmental, Health and Safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Supports customers through effective communication and collaborative teamwork.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.



  • BS in Engineering - Mechanical, or Industrial
  • 3+ years of Project Engineering in a Manufacturing environment
  • Experience in purchasing and Vendor negotiation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Proven track record of individual accomplishment, contribution and team based success
  • Strong knowledge base on plant infrastructures, design & equipment installation
  • Working knowledge of environmental, safety and health
  • Developed computer skills in MS Office, Auto-CAD, MS Project or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate and listen effectively at all levels
  • Ability to meet travel schedule up to 10%



  • Experience supervising multiple Contractors and Vendors
  • SAP purchasing system
