GENERAL FUNCTION

The Sr Human Resources Spcialist-Payroll assists Operations to support in the timely and consistent resolution of associate issues.  Oversees payroll system (Kronos) and ensures accurate time and attendance, absence management and scheduling support for manufacturing and distribution center.  Provides exceptional customer service and problem resolution while maintaining strict confidentiality of information at all times.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follows and maintains knowledge of all payroll and Human Resources policies and procedures, including a comprehensive understanding of various PTO, sick and holiday plans to ensure accuracy of accruals and payments.
  • Resolves and corrects timecard errors in compliance with state regulations.
  • Addresses inquiries from employees, stakeholders or regulatory agencies regarding payroll issues. Answers and researches benefit, payroll and policy questions.
  • Supports manager and associate self-service to ensure data integrity through ongoing audits.
  • Appropriately maintains and secures confidential records and inquiries.
  • Provides directions to employees and front line leaders on policy interpretation.
  • Recommends policy revisions based on changing trends, workplace needs and changes in the law.
  • Identifies, compiles, and analyzes relevant HR trend data, prepares reports, and presents conclusions.
  • Performs special projects or assignments as needed, including assisting and/or leading payroll related system projects.
  • Executes payroll processes within Kronos and feed to payroll system.
  • Runs Kronos reports, analyzes the data, and provides guidance on strategic directions (improvements, fixes, new projects).

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of HR or Associate Relations experience
  • Basic knowledge of Federal and State Employment Law
  • Knowledge and skill in fundamental recruiting and relationship building
