GENERAL FUNCTION

The Transportation Sr. Analyst manages the execution of moving freight and teaming with leadership to develop the strategic direction of multiple transportation streams that are handled under the transportation portfolio. Provides transportation solutions for outbound operations from Luxottica's shipping points to and from over 4,500 retail stores and direct to consumers.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifies transportation process improvement opportunities through strategic thinking, critical thinking and analysis.
  • Develops and maintains cost estimates, forecasts, and cost models.
  • Utilizes quantitative skills to create and analyze reports to support business execution. Supports the business through ad-hoc queries, and maintains reports from a variety of resources as specific to department or organizational needs.
  • Develops business tools and solutions based on knowledge, product or technology.
  • Provides recommendations to senior managements
  • Performs data management through a combination of data mining, data modeling, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, process mapping, and/or problem analysis; while executing day to day processes related to area of responsibility.
  • Manages vendor/business partner relationshipss
  • Manages internal business partner and relationships, specifically retail brand employees.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 or more years of transportation, logistics and/ or related supply chain experience
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to clarify and resolve complex business issues by breaking them down into meaningful components to determine root cause and redesigning internal and external business processes
  • Ability to write, speak, and present clearly and succinctly across a variety of communication settings and adjusts communication style to the audience by translating and articulating technical concepts to non-technical groups
  • Demonstrates originality and imagination in thinking while developing a solution to a problem
  • Utilizes fundamental concepts of finance to manage budgets, forecast costs, and provide information to account for the financial impact of decision-making

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Finance Degree
  • Master's Degree
  • Warehousing Experience
  • SQL and Visual Basic
