The Sr. Design Engineer is a member of the team that creates and delivers brand-relevant technologies to the Product Roadmap. R&D’s core role is innovation through timely creation of technologies with meaningful consumer benefits. This position is a technical expert, using experience and knowledge to drive project level decision-making in cross functional peer groups.



  • Serves as seasoned professional within the R&D team, driving project progress through critical thinking, conceptualization and expert execution.
  • Functions as a senior member within a cross-functional team.
  • Responsible for mechanical and structural engineering of new products.
  • Develops new technologies, in line with feature, performance and cost specifications.
  • Execution of improvements to legacy products.
  • Project planning of engineering tasks and estimating timelines.
  • Tests performance improvements through application of the scientific method.
  • Working awareness is project level, with direct execution of the underlying tasks.
  • Cross functional partners include Industrial Design, Product Development Engineering, Product Managers and Manufacturing.
  • Tracks and communicates project status to applicable cross functional teams.
  • Executes high level engineering requiring very little directional supervision.



  • BS in Engineering or similar
  • 5+ years engineering experience
  • CAD modeling, packaging and assembly experience
  • Familiarity with polymers, plastics processing and injection molding
  • Rapid prototyping/additive manufacturing methods and design
  • Experience conducting physical testing and sample evaluation
  • Hands-on experience fabricating prototypes for testing and user feedback
  • Computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Word
  • Imaginative outside the box thinker with a documented history of problem solving
  • Demonstrates an Entrepreneurial spirit through constant progression and improvement
  • Passion for and participation in our core sports
  • Simple and Fast approach to innovating under challenging deadlines, fail fast- learn faster
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and strong collaboration in cross functional teams
  • Strong organizational, people, verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with high attention to detail



  • BS in Engineering or similar
  • 8+ years multi-industry experience, with a focus in consumer products
  • ProE/Creo proficiency
  • Highly skilled in volumetric modeling and surface creation
  • Packaging and manipulation of complex assemblies
  • Kinematic and mechanical assembly manipulation
  • FEA and moldflow simulation
  • Practical knowledge of wearable electronics product design
  • Familiarity with MIM, die casting, forging and other metal forming technogie
  • Experience conducting physical testing and sample evaluation
  • Field testing with end-users in various environments
