GENERAL FUNCTION

This role manages communication for the Oakley brand in NA.  Partner closely with the global team and regionalize the global priorities and strategies.  Understand the business objectives for both wholesale and retail, to develop and implement the marketing communications plan for Oakley across all sales channels.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take the lead from the global media strategy to create the North American media plan with the global agency of record.
  • Develop a regional communications plan to drive the local business. Where relevant this will include developing local content to cater to the local market needs.
    • KPIS: sales, foot traffic, consumer engagement, media performance, annual BHT scores
  • Partner with the WHS and Oakley retail teams to drive a strong and consistent brand message across all consumer touchpoints. 
  • Work with the global team and local agencies to develop new and innovative ways to communicate key brand and campaign messaging in market.
  • Create the NA PR Strategy in alignment with the global PR strategy.
  • Manage the appointed agencies to develop and execute plans.
  • Influence, educate and promote NA marketing investment to our customers to increase demand creation.
  • Create and execute the communications strategy for the NA athlete roster.
  • Develop and manage the communications plans for regional Brand led events
  • Work closely with the NA sport marketing and events manager to develop and execute the communications plan around SM led events. 
  • Manage the Promotion Development process in conjunction with Sales & Product team to ensure the timely and effective implementation of all promotional activity.
  • Work closely with the Sales Team & Trade Marketing Director to develop marketing activities for wholesale.
  • Work closely with the Oakley retail team to develop marketing activities for Oakley retail.
  • Work with the Marketing VP to manage the tracking and reporting of the communications budget.
  • Manage various activities such as co-op promotional & advertising executions, staff training events, new store openings, VIP evenings to increase sales as necessary

  • Work with the Marketing VP to develop a program of relevant third party initiatives to drive sales and consumer engagement.
  • Develop excellent relationships with business partners to create marketing plans to leverage relationships to generate sales and increase exposure
  • Work with internal support resources to analyse and develop insights for all major campaigns and communicate to relevant parties within the business
  • Help provide support for internal and external marketing inquiries.
  • Special projects as needed.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or Business.
  • 10+ years of related work experience
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Able to build strong relationships both internally and externally and show high levels of integrity and trustworthiness
  • Customer service skills
  • Time management, organisational and administration skills
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to travel interstate and overseas
