Luxottica North America, a multinational omni-channel retailer, is looking for an Associate Counsel to support all aspects concerning Real Estate and Business Services Legal Team and Intellectual Property (IP) and Franchise Legal Teams. The Associate Counsel will report to the Assistant General Counsel Real Estate and Business services and will be responsible for managing commercial real estate leases, agreements and related documents, commercial agreements and related matters as well as corporate matters and intellectual property matters.



  • Assist with preparation, review and negotiation of leases for store locations
  • Prepare, review and negotiate related documentation, including agreements related to renewals, rental concessions, storage, termination and other amendments and general correspondence
  • Assist operational personnel and other cross-functional partners with real estate issues and questions (i.e. – lease interpretation)
  • Assist Assistant General Counsel with lease administration oversight and other process improvement project management
  • Review and negotiation of estoppel and subordination, non-disturbance agreements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Assist with contract review and drafting for a variety of commercial and IP agreements
  • Manage IP cease and desist matters
  • Work with representatives from various business lines on developing and modifying guidelines, policies, practices and procedures to conform to legal requirements
  • Keep informed of legislation and new regulations affecting various company operations
  • Perform a variety of routine legal assignments and projects, act as a liaison with outside counsel



  • JD from an accredit law school and excellent academic background
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one state
  • 3+ years of relevant experience with private law firm or corporate legal department (or a combination thereof) in corporate and real estate
  • Superior writing, communication, and research skills
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Motivated, self-starter
  • Ability to work independently, yet collaborate effectively with other attorneys, paralegals, and business partners
  • Flexible and able to think on feet
  • Ability to adapt to constantly shifting priorities, and allocate resources appropriately
  • Ability to identify opportunities to create and improve process systems



  • Project management training
  • Retail industry experience
